Silent Darkness

Title: Silent Darkness
Author: [livejournal.com profile] shegollum
Rating: G
Warnings: A little angsty
Prompt(s): #9: a picture of a dock
Disclaimer: Simply never happened

He's at the end of the dock, toes trailing in the water. He is sad and rightfully, understandably, so. He has slipped away in himself and I am worrying myself sick with wanting to see that spark in his eyes and to hear his mad laugh. The other side of his pain is far across a dark gulf and I can only be there to offer whatever I can. I settle beside him and look straight ahead. There's no light in those blue eyes and no silly cackle but his hand slides near and he takes mine in his own.

"...and he takes mine in his own."

Because they know each other so well and just know that the other can help . . .

Beautifully expressed.

"I can only be there to offer whatever I can.” This is friendship in essence. Thank you for this lovely fic.

Very lovely, and makes me wonder why Viggo is so very sad.

Like the rest I wonder, too. Wish I could comfort him, but I'm glad sean is there to provide it.

He is sad and rightfully, understandably, so.

That is tantalizing. I really like the solitary unhappiness that softens a little into wanting comfort, and the unspoken strength.

I love that touch at the end that just makes everything click. Nice!

Sad, but that handclasp at the end was so beautiful. Thank you.

Wise and so true. Someone who loves you will sit in silence by your side
demanding nothing, simply waiting peacefully until you come home to them again.
So much in such a few lines - beautifully restrained. Many thanks.

He has slipped away in himself
