Prompt(s): #20: trust, "stirring the concentric circles" and a picture of Fidel's
Disclaimer: This is a work of fiction. It's make believe and completely untrue.
Sitting alone in the dark, cool, leafy courtyard at Fidel's in Wellington, Viggo drops a sugar cube into the strong Havana coffee, stirring the concentric circles and brooding.
Aragorn needs to gain Boromir's trust, because with that trust will come fidelity. How bitter a draught that in the very moment Aragorn will gain both trust and allegiance, he will lose Boromir for ever.
Blinking back sudden tears, Viggo looks up to see his Faithful Jewel finally approaching the table, his smile a shaft of sunlight slicing through the gloom.
"Trust you to be early the one time I am late!"

Date: 2009-06-24 04:08 pm (UTC)Oh my goodness, and I can't believe I missed what Alex pointed out above: the mirroring of Aragorn losing Boromir the moment he gains his trust, and the slightly out-of-synch timing of Sean and Viggo's meetup. That's perfect! I love it.
