For Sean, who had arrived only the day before from a misty England, Zacatecas came almost as a shock. Once, almost ten years ago, they had set out to explore New Zealand in a similar way, discovering much more than just that.

After today's long drive Sean tumbled onto the king-size bed, pulling Viggo down with him. He was still high on sharp colours, still 'drunken with the light', as Viggo had recited in the car and his clothes seemed to somehow suffocate him.

He stretched languorously beneath clever hands, colours and light kept safe behind his now closed eyes.

Ohhhhh, very nice. Mmmm. I love not only the light and the colours and the clever hands (and the way Sean is able to keep these sensations safe behind his eyes), but the way the whole hints at their larger history together. ^_^

Even after ten years their delight in mutual exploration has not abatet and each knows how to keep the light and the colours of the day bright for a bit longer for his lover - because I'm sure another day it will be Viggo who "stretches languorously beneath clever hands, colours and light kept safe behind his now closed eyes".
