Title: Shelter
Author: Kris (
ribby)
Rating: G
Warnings: None
Prompt(s): #s 15 and 23: "to remember also means to learn" and a picture of discarded books on the side of train tracks.
Disclaimer: Don't own them, not making any money
Summary: Shelter isn't always physical.
He's been fidgety all day, can't seem to settle.
He's tried painting, but the colors come out wrong, muted. Poetry, likewise.
He picks up a book he'd found abandoned by the railroad tracks, opens it. Words tumble across his eyes, snatches of language.
"to remember also means to learn"
"how far off coast do you have to go
to be sheltered from the rain"
Yes. He dials, and as the voice on the other end greets him, everything clears.
"Hi, Sean."
Not far at all for shelter. He remembers again this friendship's joy ... and is finally at peace.
